In late February, Migration Matters held a ‘Mediatization of Migration’ workshop at Radboud University. Thirty students explored how media framing affects perceptions of migration and migrants. Highlighting diverse perspectives and storytelling formats, the workshop aimed to equip students with tools to create counter-narratives and foster inclusive dialogue.

In February 2024, we conducted a media training aimed at amplifying the voices of forcibly displaced people in the media. Organized by the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience (ICSC), this event brought together 20 CSOs from around the world to develop new communication and advocacy tools.

Bernadette Klausberger from the Migration Matters team will be a speaker in the “Migration and mobility narratives in the arts” roundtable on May 11. The panel “considers how a creative producer could construct messages of immigrants and immigration that are humanistic, pluralistic, respectful, reliable and thought provoking while also encouraging audiences to embrace critical lenses”.
