We are thrilled to announce that our podcast series, “Voices on the Move,” is officially available for streaming! After over a year of dedication and hard work alongside our esteemed partners, this seven-episode series is ready to bring new insights into the intersection of climate change and human mobility.
“Voices on the Move,” delves into the intricate and often oversimplified relationship between climate change and migration. Throughout the series, we explore how environmental challenges are influencing global migration patterns, with a particular focus on the experiences and voices from the Global South. Topics covered include climate-driven displacement, gender and social inequalities, impacts on indigenous communities, and the pivotal role of women in navigating climate mobility, among many others.
This project would not have been possible without the incredible support and collaboration from our partners at the York University Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research, Samuel Hall, and the HABITABLE Horizon 2020 project. We are also profoundly grateful to the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) for their funding and support.
The podcast features insightful discussions with experts in the field, including Dr. Yvonne Su, Dr. François Gemenne, Dr. Nassim Majidi, and Dr. Mo Hamza. Alongside expert analysis, the podcast brings forward the stories of those who are on the frontlines of climate change—highlighting personal struggles, resilience, and adaptation strategies in the face of global environmental challenges.
