Europe is more diverse than it has ever been. This is a problem for some, a cause for celebration for others, and a lived reality for many. Over the next weeks and months, we will examine this diversity and the typically cited problems that come up when we talk about migrants and refugees: crime, segregation, jobs, and an incompatibility of values. We will interview experts such as Prof. Dr. Naika Foroutan, one of Germany’s top integration researchers. We will take to the streets to ask the general public what integration means to them. We will compare different approaches to integration and try to define together what this term should mean in Europe today.
